The perfect place to start
A picture says a thousand words. And an infographic contains a lot of pictures! That is why this post is the ultimate starting place for anyone looking to start with dyeing their hair with henna. We all know it can be tough to get rid of familiarities and start with something new. And yes, it won’t be always as easy, but hey you gain so much! A little bit of struggle for having healthy, wonderful and most of all colorful hair ain’t that bad. And trust me it really isn’t that bad. Soon you too will be dyeing your hair and telling all your friends about this wonderful product.
A word of advice for those who get straight into business: gloves. Get gloves. I can’t stress this enough. I have yet to met a person who managed to dye their hair with henna without it getting at least a little bit messy! It’s all nice to have glorious lush hair, but that doesn’t mean you should have dirty fingernails, right? A simple pair of cheap plastic gloves (on Amazon for about $7 for 500 gloves) solves this entire problem and you will be thankful later!
Whenever you use henna, check the list of ingredients. Some (shady) retailers sell something so called ‘black henna’. Henna is NOT black. Henna mixed with indigo can result in a black color, but that’s as far as it goes. In black henna, henna is mixed with chemical ingredients to make the product more potent. This however is not part of the ideology of henna hair dyeing, which is meant to be an all-natural substitute for those nasty chemicals. An ingredient you should definitively look out for is p-Phenylenediamine or PPD which can cause severe allergic reactions and even scarring! Best to play it safe and stick to the products on our website so after reading our our henna hair dye infographic you can head on back to our henna hair dye section for even more information and a lot of reviews!
